Prevention is vital to take care of our health when traveling. Peru is situated in the tropical regions of South America, so there are a number of related illnesses and in particular the ones transmitted by mosquitos such as malaria, yellow fever and dengue.

Even when the risk of contracting any type of illness is minimal, if you plan to go to the amazonian areas, we recommend you take into account all the preventions and get vaccinated against yellow fever.

Also, we recommend that any medicines brought into the country do so with their original packaging. For prescriptions you should bring a letter signed by a doctor in which he describes your condition, a diagnosis and the generic names of the medicines you take. In case you bring syringes and or neddles make sure you have a letter from you doctor stating why.

The following is a list of medicines that could be useful while traveling:

. Anti diarrheals

. Anti inflammatories

. Anti fungal and bacterial lotions
